What time are you?

Filed under: Uncategorized — gbrad @ 3:24 am

Yo there’s that scripture where Jesus tells this parable:

1“For (A)the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his (B)vineyard.

2“When he had agreed with the laborers for a [a]denarius for the day, he sent them into his vineyard.

3“And he went out about the [b]third hour and saw others standing idle in the market place;

4and to those he said, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.’ And so they went.

5“Again he went out about the [c]sixth and the ninth hour, and did the same thing.

6“And about the [d]eleventh hour he went out and found others standing around; and he said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here idle all day long?’

7“They said to him, ‘Because no one hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You go into the vineyard too.’

8“When (C)evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his (D)foreman, ‘Call the laborers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last group to the first.’

9“When those hired about the eleventh hour came, each one received a [e]denarius.

10“When those hired first came, they thought that they would receive more; but each of them also received a denarius.

11“When they received it, they grumbled at the landowner,

12saying, ‘These last men have worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the (E)scorching heat of the day.’

13“But he answered and said to one of them, ‘(F)Friend, I am doing you no wrong; did you not agree with me for a denarius?

14‘Take what is yours and go, but I wish to give to this last man the same as to you.

15‘Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with what is my own? Or is your (G)eye envious because I am generous?’

16“So (H)the last shall be first, and the first last.”

What time are you? I’m feeling a little late to work myself. Yet everyone who showed up with me will receive what was promised just like those who were there earlier. I have been forgiven much, so I pray to love just as much. Never to cheapen the grace I have been shown. Even though I fall short, I show up and get what is promised, working as hard as I can out of gratitude. I am seeing it is . . . a struggle for some of us who profess to believe. I pray for GOD to continue to sanctify us so that we’ll desire repentance and mercy and His matchless grace.

Change your life

Filed under: Uncategorized — gbrad @ 2:57 am

I reread in Acts where Peter had a dream after fasting 3 days where GOD told him to “rise, kill, and eat” and Peter says he doesn’t eat anything unclean, yet GOD reminds him not to call anything unclean that He has called clean, while at the same time Cornelius is told by GOD that He has heard his prayers and accepted his alms and to send for Peter. Peter wakes up and immediately realizes WITHOUT QUESTION that there is a GOD sanctioned change in his life and when Cornelius’ men show up to ask him to come, they rest for the night and leave right away the next day. When we just realize it’s GOD . . .HELLO. . . He change our lives, actually changing the way we do things. Peter maintained the focus on GOD different direction for his life and . . . well. . . here I am blogging about it. GOD can change all our lives if we just focus and KNOW it’s him. Love GOD and desire his will for your whole life.

Bloggers small group: Rom. 3: 1-8

Filed under: Bloggers Small group — gbrad @ 10:20 am

This is the Blogger Small Group for this week at run’n like a vagabond You can see what everybody else had to say¬† there. 1Then what advantage has the Jew? Or what is the benefit of circumcision?

2Great in every respect. First of all, that they were entrusted with the oracles of God.

3What then? If some did not believe, their unbelief will not nullify the faithfulness of God, will it?

4May it never be! Rather, let God be found true, though every man be found a liar, as it is written,

But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say? The God who inflicts wrath is not unrighteous, is He? (I am speaking in human terms.)6 May it never be! For otherwise, how will God judge the world?7But if through my lie the truth of God abounded to His glory, why am I also still being judged as a sinner? 8And why not say (as we are slanderously reported and as some claim that we say), “Let us do evil that good may come”? Their condemnation is just.

First of all thanks for having me, latecomer as I am. Here’s what GOD revealed to me:

Vv 1-2: A reminder of the truth of the OT that GOD set apart His people for holiness by speaking to them through signs and prophets.

vv 3-4: More truth that GOD’s word will always be true with clarification from Scripture

vv 5-8: Paul speaks facetiously (in human terms) of GOD’s righteousness being found in our unrighteousness and speaking of those have called the faithful liars when they are not, accusing them of doing evil just so so good will come of it.

It has been laid on my heart that throughout this passage that Paul is straightening out some misconceptions and defending the faith against foolish attacks, lies, and slanders.

Romans 2:1-16

Filed under: Bloggers Small group — gbrad @ 11:11 pm

V.1-4: Yeah, I see where there is no excuse for us to judge others esp. when we are aware that we will be judged for similar foolishness. But in v. 4 we have got to recognize the riches of GOD’s patience and tolerance for us to come to repentance.

V.5-10: Our own stubbornness is what counts against us on the day of wrath; the more stubborn we are the more GOD counts it against us. But once again GOD makes it simple:”those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life; & those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and indignation,There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of man who does evil”

V. 11 GOD does not play favorites

V.12 -13 when the law is what you live your life by you’ll be judged by the law and only saved by it if you do it.

V. 14-16 Even those who are not under the law but by accident abide by it GOD will judge them by it because “GOD will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus.”

What now???

Filed under: Thoughts — gbrad @ 4:36 am

What do you do when you’ve done everything you know in your ministry and they still don’t show? I mean you pray for them , with them, there’s intercession, and you’ve provided opportunities, awesome opportunities for them to deepen their faith . . . You go to the Word of GOD, fast and pray, and wait . . . and you know the LORD does not tarry but is patient . . . but still . . . no BE still and know that HE is GOD. Don’t trade now for Heaven. Obedience is better than sacrifice.

Offended-S’up with that?

Filed under: Thoughts — gbrad @ 9:02 pm

If you profess to be christian and another christian points out to you an aspect of your life where you’re not holding to GOD’s truth . . . and they endeavor to correct you USING the Bible, why get offended? I can understand those professed christians who are busybodies (1Timothy 5:13) but Scripture also says something not accepting wisdom/sound advice (Proverbs 13:1, 27:5 & 28:23 and Ecclesiastes 7:5) Come on Christians! Toughen up, Straighten up! Be blessed

Uh uh . . . there is no “own”

Filed under: Thoughts — gbrad @ 4:42 am

Here in the U.S. we’ve developed a saying(s) : “Do it on your own”, “I’ll do my own thing”, “All on his /her own” when in reality we don’t “own” anything. We don’t learn anything on our own, we always have some kind of help or mentor for an example. We don’t build anything on own, there is always a crew. Noah had instructions directly from GOD he didn’t build the ark “on his own”. Scripture says “there is nothing new under the sun” and yet we constantly delude and distract ourselves with “New and Improved!” , “Brand New never before seen/tried/done!” . . . and we ALWAYS think that anything we did “on our own” is special and impressive. If 100,000 people read this weblog I didn’t do it “on my own”! GOD made the world and everything it. He gave us His Son and gave us faith. He owns it all. (I didn’t even come up with this post “on my own”) Let’s just face it . . . GOD rules and for those who can’t accept it . . . one day “EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,” Don’t wait till then .

GOD makes it simple-we make it complicated

Filed under: Thoughts — gbrad @ 11:18 pm

From as far back as Adam & Eve God has endeavored to make our lives blissfully simple-yet we cannot follow the simplest of instructions: “Don’t eat from this tree. You may eat from any other tree BUT this one” We can’t even get that right!! We let ourselves get distracted. . . by the least little thing. And even then . . . John 3:16-17. He breaks off a piece of himself as a perfect sacrifice to himself to suffer and die just so that we could have the opportunity to be in right relationship with Him. Romans 5:6-8 How does ANY one who professes to be Christian expect to please GOD by twisting the Scriptures to suit their own purposes? If you want to simplify your life – Go with GOD.

I have heard it preached that “excuses are the crutches of the uncommitted” . . . umm . . . that kind of made me re-examine my daily . . . everything. If you think about it a little bit, anytime you are truly committed to something you don’t allow anything to get in the way of it. Live like Christ, commit to it, truly commit, observe the change GOD make in & for you.
